A poster and trailer for the psychological thriller The Knife have been released online following its award-winning world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival this past June.
The film marks the directorial debut of former NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha, who co-wrote the screenplay with Mark Duplass. It tells the story of a young family pushed to their limits after a detective uncovers dark secrets they have struggled to keep hidden following an intruder's arrival in their home.
In addition to Asomugha, the cast features Melissa Leo, Aja Naomi King, and Manny Jacinto. You can view the trailer below…
After a mysterious stranger appears in their home, a young Black family must navigate the repercussions of their decisions, both significant and minor, as a determined detective works to solve the case during one pivotal night.
The Knife will be released in theaters on August 15th.
