Tim Miller will direct Keanu Reeves in the sci-fi film Shiver, which involves a time-loop concept.
Keanu Reeves is set to make a return to science fiction under the direction of Deadpool's Tim Miller, as they collaborate on a potential Warner Bros. project titled Shiver.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Shiver is characterized as a blend of Edge of Tomorrow and Blake Lively’s shark survival thriller, The Shallows. Miller will direct the film based on a screenplay by Ian Shorr, who has previously tackled similar high-concept sci-fi in the Mark Wahlberg action film Infinite.
Details about the plot are sparse, but it is rumored that Shiver will revolve around a worthless smuggler entangled in a lethal double-cross while operating in the Caribbean Sea, surrounded by corpses, villains, and aggressive sharks. He soon realizes he is trapped in a time loop and must figure out how to escape it.
The film will be produced by Matthew Vaughn of Kingsman fame, under his Marv Films label, along with Aaron Ryder from Dumb Money.
Reeves is coming off two disappointing projects, Ballerina and Good Fortune, while this will be Miller's return to feature filmmaking after the troubled production of Terminator: Dark Fate in 2019.
