Tamashii Nations reveals S.H.Figuarts figures of Elphaba and Glinda from Wicked.
Tamashii Nations has introduced the S.H.Figuarts series action figures of Elphaba and Glinda, inspired by the appearances of Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande in Jon M. Chu’s celebrated adaptation of the beloved Broadway musical Wicked. Take a look at the promotional images here…
ELPHABA, portrayed by Cynthia Erivo, is now part of the S.H.Figuarts series! Elphaba from Wicked features her signature green skin and her distinctive black dress and cape. She includes a variety of interchangeable parts, such as her hat, to recreate scenes from the film. Additionally, three intricately designed facial expression parts, crafted using Tamashii’s Digital Coloring technology, are included. Special articulation has been created to allow for dynamic scene recreation.
GLINDA, as performed by Ariana Grande, is also joining the S.H.Figuarts line! Glinda’s layered pink bubble dress is represented with exquisite sculpting and a soft color scheme. Her shimmering wand and tiara are also carefully designed. She comes with three expression parts made with Tamashii’s Digital Coloring technology, enabling you to recreate poses from Wicked alongside the S.H.Figuarts Elphaba (Wicked) (sold separately).
Once again directed by award-winning filmmaker Jon M. Chu and featuring a stellar returning cast led by Academy Award® nominee Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, the final installment of the untold story of the witches of Oz begins with Elphaba and Glinda estranged and facing the repercussions of their choices.
Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), now branded as The Wicked Witch of the West, resides in isolation, hidden within the Ozian forest, while she continues to advocate for the freedom of Oz’s silenced Animals and strives to unveil the truth she knows about The Wizard (Jeff Goldblum).
On the other hand, Glinda has evolved into the glamorous icon of Goodness for all of Oz, residing in the Emerald City palace and enjoying the benefits of fame and popularity. Under the guidance of Madame Morrible (Oscar® winner Michelle Yeoh), Glinda is positioned to serve as a bubbly comfort to Oz, assuring the public that everything is well under The Wizard's reign.
As Glinda’s fame skyrockets and she prepares for a grand Ozian wedding to Prince Fiyero (Olivier Award winner and Emmy and SAG nominee Jonathan Bailey), she is troubled by her separation from Elphaba. Glinda seeks to mediate peace between Elphaba and The Wizard, but her attempts will ultimately backfire, driving Elphaba and Glinda further apart. The aftermath will have lasting effects on Boq (Tony nominee Ethan Slater) and Fiyero and endanger Elphaba’s sister, Nessarose (Marissa Bode), when a girl from Kansas disrupts their lives.
As an angry mob rises against the Wicked Witch, Glinda and Elphaba will need to unite one last time. With their unique friendship at the center of their destinies, they must truly understand one another through honesty and empathy if they hope to transform themselves and all of Oz for the better.
Wicked: For Good features Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, Marissa Bode, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Bronwyn James, Sharon D. Clarke, and Colman Domingo.
