Ruk becomes part of EXO-6’s Star Trek series with the introduction of a new sixth scale figure.
EXO-6 has officially introduced its sixth scale figure of Ruk from the classic Star Trek: The Original Series episode "What Are Little Girls Made Of?". This latest addition to EXO-6’s Star Trek action figure lineup is currently available for pre-order at a price of $235; check it out here…
In this iconic first-season episode of Star Trek: The Original Series, Ruk is an extraordinarily ancient android created by the Old Ones (the long-gone inhabitants of Exo III) hundreds of thousands of years ago as part of their android labor force. For ages, Ruk has been maintaining the underground machinery of his creators’ civilization in isolation, a duty that has lasted nearly half a million years. When Dr. Roger Korby finds him, Ruk becomes both an ally and a menace.
Portrayed by Ted Cassidy, the well-known character actor famed for his role as Lurch on The Addams Family, Ruk highlights Cassidy’s ability to bring a powerful, unforgettable presence to unique characters. Cassidy’s impressive height and distinct delivery made him a standout in unusual science fiction roles, lending the android an intensity and threat that perfectly reflects the episode’s themes of flawed creation.
EXO-6 perfectly captures this formidable alien in museum-quality detail with a fully articulated 1/6 scale figure measuring an impressive 33 cm tall, designed to be in scale with other Star Trek figures. The figure features a hand-painted likeness of Ted Cassidy as Ruk, accurately representing the extreme makeup from the episode. The android’s vibrant robes and cloak are intricately recreated, and he includes the broken stalactite—the jagged weapon that Kirk uses in his battle against the relentless android.
