The remake will wrap up next year with Final Fantasy VII: Revelation.
The expected conclusion to Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII remake series, titled Final Fantasy VII: Revelation, is set to launch on consoles next year. The studio has unveiled an announcement trailer and a gameplay featurette that highlight new gameplay mechanics, including world travel on the ship Highwind. Check out the trailers below…
In Final Fantasy VII: Revelation, Cloud and his companions will continue their mission to prevent Sephiroth from destroying the planet and changing reality. The final chapter will introduce beloved characters Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind to the team. The English voice cast will see Matt Mercer voicing Vincent, while Travis Willingham takes over the role of Sephiroth after Tyler Hoechlin, who voiced the character in Remake and Rebirth, could not return due to scheduling issues.
Final Fantasy VII is often regarded as the finest installment in the Final Fantasy franchise. Released in 1997, it gained immense popularity and is one of the few entries in the series to have several spin-offs that explore the backstories of various characters, alongside the animated sequel film, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. The new game is set to release in Spring 2027, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the original game and is referred to as the concluding chapter for all Final Fantasy VII media.
As the world hangs by a thread, the ultimate battle against Sephiroth commences. A meteor blemishes the sky, monstrous guardians wreak chaos across the planet, and the flames of war emerge. Cloud and his allies must confront this turmoil to determine the planet’s destiny while bringing a legendary conflict to its conclusion. In the final chapter of the FINAL FANTASY VII remake project, the scale is unprecedented, and the stakes are at an all-time high. Soar through the skies and discover an expansive world, fight alongside a fully assembled party, master both strategic and dynamic combat, and brace yourself for the epic finale. A vast planet awaits, and everything builds up to this moment.
Final Fantasy VII: Revelation is set to launch in Spring 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
