The video game for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin has been officially announced.

      In recent years, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise has re-emerged in popular culture, highlighted by its latest animated film, Mutant Mayhem, and a television continuation, in addition to a sequel that is currently in the works, along with announcements for a new live-action movie. However, one storyline that gained immense popularity before the film was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, created by Kevin Eastman, Peter Laird, and Tom Waltz.

      In 2023, it was revealed that The Last Ronin would receive a video game adaptation, but development was temporarily halted. During the Summer Game Fest over the weekend, Paramount announced that the game is back in the works with Paramount Games Studio and Platinum Games for current consoles and PC, accompanied by an announcement trailer for the highly anticipated title.

      Set in a dystopian future, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin features the Foot Clan, now ruled by Shredder’s grandson, who has seized control of New York City. The Ronin represents the last surviving teenage mutant ninja turtle after his three brothers and father, Splinter, were killed decades earlier when the Foot Clan took over the city. Fueled by regret and a thirst for vengeance, he sets out on a final mission to avenge his family and eradicate the Foot Clan once and for all.

      Since its release, The Last Ronin has gained significant popularity and has become a favorite among fans, leading to the creation of its own "Roninverse," which encompasses a prequel series, a sequel, and the upcoming one-shot comic, The Last Ronin: Training Day, which takes place during the original narrative. An R-rated live-action film was initially in development, but it has been scrapped in favor of a new, more family-friendly live-action project that Paramount is eager to produce. Nevertheless, Eastman recently expressed optimism for a Last Ronin film, believing that it is only a matter of time before it comes to fruition.

      Currently, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin does not have a specified release date, but it will be developed for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
