The son of Bruce Lee, he lost his life due to an accidental shooting while filming his 1994 movie, *The Crow* (above). Compounding the tragedy, his father had also died young, at 32, two decades prior.

      **River Phoenix**

River Phoenix was born on August 23, 1970, and passed away on October 31, 1993, at just 23 years old. He was regarded as the quintessential Gen X actor, growing up in the public eye and delivering memorable performances in films like *Stand By Me*, *Running on Empty*, *Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade*, and *My Own Private Idaho*. He was killed in a shooting in Las Vegas; earlier this year, police arrested a suspect who allegedly arranged the attack.
