Brandon Lee was born on March 31, 1965, and tragically died on March 31, 1993, at the age of just 28. The son of Bruce Lee, he lost his life due to an accidental shooting while filming his 1994 movie, *The Crow* (above). Compounding the tragedy, his father had also died young, at 32, two decades prior.

      **River Phoenix**

River Phoenix was born on August 23, 1970, and passed away on October 31, 1993, at just 23 years old. He was regarded as the quintessential Gen X actor, growing up in the public eye and delivering memorable performances in films like *Stand By Me*, *Running on Empty*, *Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade*, and *My Own Private Idaho*. He died from an overdose of heroin and cocaine at The Viper Room in West Hollywood. Phoenix was survived by a talented family, including his younger brother, Joaquin Phoenix.

Tupac Shakur was born on June 16, 1971, and died on September 13, 1996, at just 25. His death was a significant loss to both the music and film industries. Before his passing, he had delivered powerful performances in movies like *Juice* and *Poetic Justice*, and he appeared to be on the verge of becoming a major success as an actor and rapper, displaying remarkable empathy and charisma both on stage and in front of the camera. He was killed in a shooting in Las Vegas; earlier this year, police arrested a suspect who allegedly arranged the attack.

      **Chris Farley**

His collaborations with fellow SNL cast member David Spade, particularly in *Tommy Boy* (1995), were comedic highlights. Farley also brought a unique chaotic charm to films like *Wayne’s World* and *Beverly Hills Ninja* (1997). Tragically, he developed a drug addiction similar to his idol, John Belushi, and died of a drug overdose at the age of 33.
