Funcom has unveiled a new trailer for their forthcoming open-world multiplayer survival game, Dune: Awakening. This video (see below) highlights some of the intricately designed biomes that players will encounter as they explore, ride, or even fly across the surface of Arrakis.

Although primarily a desert planet, Arrakis features numerous unique locations, many of which contain hidden secrets waiting to be discovered. In this video, viewers can briefly explore iconic sites such as Vermillius Gap, Arrakeen, Hagga Rift, and the Shield Wall, some of which are visible while gliding in an Ornithopter.

Dune: Awakening transports players to Arrakis, the most perilous planet in the Dune universe. Here, they will encounter not only blistering deserts and formidable Sandworms but also stunning landscapes. Players will need to establish their influence on the planet by building massive bases, managing the Spice trade, and engaging in combat.

Those who journey to Arrakis will be able to:

      - Survive the extreme desert conditions and giant sandworms by mastering the ways of the Fremen.

      - Build and enhance bases, create vehicles, develop trade, and fight for dominance over the planet.

      - Advance their character by choosing the path of the Mentat, Trooper, Planetologist, Swordmaster, or Bene Gesserit.

      - Control the Spice supply and wage war to maintain their power.

      - Join a guild and ally with either House Harkonnen or Atreides.

Stay tuned for the release of Dune: Awakening later this year.
