
Netflix releases trailer for the live-action movie Demon City.
In anticipation of its release on Netflix later this month, the streaming platform has unveiled a poster and trailer for Demon City, a live-action adaptation of Masamichi Kawabe’s manga Oni Goroshi. Directed by Seiji Tanaka, this action thriller tells the story of Sakata (Toma Ikuta), a renowned hitman who is wrongfully accused of murdering his family and left for dead. After waking up from a coma that lasted over a decade, Sakata embarks on a formidable quest for revenge.
Just as hitman Shuhei Sakata is preparing to turn his life around for his family, the shadowy organization Kimen-gumi kills his wife and daughter, framing him for the crime and tarnishing his reputation. Following a gunshot wound to the head, he survives against the odds but lapses into a coma. Twelve years later, the Kimen-gumi strikes again, awakening his latent killer instinct and propelling him on a path of retribution. However, he soon discovers a truth that could radically change his fate.
The film features Toma Ikuta, Masahiro Higashide, Miou Tanaka, Ami Touma, Taro Suruga, Mai Kiryu, Naoto Takenaka, Takuma Otoo, Masanobu Takashima, and Matsuya Onoe.
Demon City will be available on Netflix starting February 27th.
