
The Masters of the Universe film has added new cast members, including Ram-Man.
Nicholas Galitzine’s portrayal of He-Man has been spotted on set, confirming that filming for Masters of the Universe is underway, while casting announcements continue to emerge. Joining the cast are Sasheer Zamata as Suzie, Jon Xue Zhang as Ram-Man, and Christian Vunipola as Hussein. They add to the recently revealed cast members James Purefoy and Charlotte Riley, who will play King Randor and Queen Marlena, the rulers of Eternia and the parents of Prince Adam/He-Man.
Directed by Travis Knight (known for Kubo and the Two Strings) and written by Chris Butler (Paranorman), Masters of the Universe aims to bring the beloved Mattel action figure franchise back to theaters. The franchise originated with its action figures in 1982, followed by the debut of the animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, which aired in syndication the following year and became a major success.
Sasheer Zamata, a former cast member of Saturday Night Live, was recently seen in Marvel’s Agatha All Along. Jon Xue Zhang is recognized for his recurring role in Netflix’s The Brothers Sun alongside Michelle Yeoh, while Christian Vunipola featured in Miguel Wants to Fight and Queenpins.
The lineup for Masters of the Universe includes Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man, Camila Mendes as Teela, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-at-Arms, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man, Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops, Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress, and Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Fisto.
The film is set to be released in theaters exclusively on June 5, 2026.
