The classic game from the 80s, Head over Heels, is set to be released on Steam and Nintendo Switch this week.

In the 1980s, a company named Ocean launched what I consider to be the finest isometric game for 8-bit computers, Head Over Heels. Last year, this classic received a fresh revival with an enhanced remake for the ZX Spectrum Next. However, the story doesn't end there, as this remake is set to be released on Thursday, March 6th for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, enabling a wider audience to see if it still holds up as it did back in its heyday or experience this charming duo for the first time. Check out the new trailer below…

In Head Over Heels, players will assist Headus Mouthion (Head) and Footus Underium (Heels) as they penetrate Blacktooth and confront the oppressive Emperor. Unfortunately, the two have been separated, and players must help them reunite to escape the Emperor's clutches.

Each character possesses distinct abilities; Head demonstrates remarkable jumping skills and can launch doughnuts from his mouth, while Heels maintains speed and can carry objects. When they unite, a variety of new and enhanced abilities become available for players to master.

The world that Head and Heels explore is peculiar, filled with bizarre enemies waiting to strike at every turn (beware of the half-Dalek, half-Prince Charles lookalike). Additionally, there are plenty of clever puzzles to solve and hidden passages to uncover.

This remake showcases beautifully redesigned isometric levels, featuring over 500 locations to explore, numerous save points, reworked controls, and a brand-new soundtrack. For those who prefer a more traditional experience, there is an optional ‘Classic Mode’ that gives graphics and sound settings to replicate the 8-bit feel.

      Key features include:

      - Over 500 locations to explore, including a completely new area not found in the original game.

      - Multiple save points.

      - New enemies and items.

      - A whimsical soundtrack by Space Fractal.

      - Chickens… for reasons unknown.

Head Over Heels launches on Nintendo Switch and Steam this Thursday.
