      Universal Pictures has released a new trailer for the upcoming horror film, The Woman in the Yard, produced by Blumhouse and directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. Danielle Deadwyler plays Ramona, a woman mourning the recent loss of her husband who is haunted by a mysterious figure that has appeared in her yard. As days go by and the woman gets closer, it becomes evident that she is not an ordinary visitor and harbors sinister motives.

      Alongside Danielle Deadwyler, the cast features Okwui Okpokwasili, Russell Hornsby, Peyton Jackson, and Estella Kahiha. Watch the trailer below.

      From Blumhouse, a leading global brand in horror, comes this new original thriller featuring BAFTA and SAG nominee Danielle Deadwyler (Till, The Harder They Fall, The Piano Lesson) as Ramona, a woman overwhelmed by grief after surviving a car accident that claimed her husband (Russell Hornsby; BMF, Fences). Severely injured, Ramona is now left to care for their 14-year-old son (Peyton Jackson; Respect, American Refugee) and 6-year-old daughter (Estella Kahiha; Will Trent, BMF) alone in her rural farmhouse.

      Then one day, a woman appears in their yard. Ramona initially thinks the woman (Okwui Okpokwasili; The Exorcist: Believer, Julie Taymor’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream) is lost or mentally unstable, but as the woman approaches the house, it becomes clear she is far from ordinary and her intentions are anything but benign. Ramona must now find a way to protect herself and her children from this relentless presence.

      The Woman in the Yard is set to hit theaters on March 28th.
