The Monsterverse grows with the addition of Return to Skull Island.

Legendary is collaborating with Titan Comics to broaden the Monsterverse multimedia franchise with "Return to Skull Island," a new comic book series inspired by Netflix’s "Skull Island: The Animated Series." This series aims to delve deeper into Kong's world and the secrets of his homeland.

Written by Simon Furman (Transformers) and illustrated by Christopher Jones (Doctor Who: Once Upon a Time Lord), "Return to Skull Island" will focus on a group of survivors stranded on the dangerous South Pacific island, where they confront life-threatening obstacles and struggle for survival in a realm where every creature poses a threat—including Kong himself.

“Skull Island's shadows conceal untold tales, fierce confrontations, and unique creatures,” stated Titan Comics editor Louis Yamani. “By combining stunning illustrations with epic narratives, we present a new perspective on Kong and his realm. We're eager to reveal more this June!”

“Working with Titan Comics on 'Return to Skull Island' enables us to expand the Monsterverse in thrilling new directions,” remarked Robert Napton, SVP & Publisher of Legendary Comics. “Transitioning Skull Island from television to comics allows us to explore its mysteries more deeply, providing fans with exciting new adventures in Kong’s universe.”
