Hauntsville introduces Wild West horror on Steam with its launch trailer.

Hauntsville, the open-world horror survival game set in the Wild West, developed by indie.io and solo creator Michael Janisch, is now on Steam. This new survival game combines intense first-person combat, base construction, and supernatural terrors with themes from the Old West, creating a distinctive survival experience.       In Hauntsville, you step back into 1897 and take on the role of a nameless traveler who finds themselves stranded in a once-thriving frontier town. The town, which was once bustling with life, is now hauntingly silent, devoid of horses, sounds, and townspeople. All that remains are cryptic notes hastily written by fleeing residents, mysterious symbols, and occult objects. Where there used to be the clatter of hooves and the hum of commerce, now there are only eerie howls and a sense of being surveilled.

Surviving in this harsh and relentless part of the Old West requires players to scavenge for resources, gather materials, build a base, and craft weapons and tools necessary to protect themselves from the terrors that emerge after nightfall. Players will discover a plethora of resources to aid their survival, including forests filled with timber, mines rich with ores, and abandoned buildings to loot. There is also ample land available to cultivate crops and source drinking water.

The Cursed West is ever-evolving; sudden storms, thick fog, and even blizzards can obscure trails, turning straightforward supply runs into desperate struggles for survival. Every night that players survive against the cryptids and spectral entities of North American mythology is a triumph, and for those who wish to celebrate that triumph with others, up to four players can collaborate in online co-op mode. Hauntsville is now available on Steam.
