Jeff Daniels is set to join the third season of Shrinking.

      The third season of Apple TV+’s dramedy series *Shrinking* has announced its first casting news for the upcoming season. According to Deadline, Jason Segal and Harrison Ford will be joined by Jeff Daniels (The Newsroom) in a guest appearance.

      The series centers around Jimmy, a therapist grappling with the loss of his wife, who decides to candidly express his true thoughts about his patients and their issues. Ford plays one of his colleagues, who has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

      Daniels will portray Jimmy’s (Segal) father during a visit to the town. This will mark Daniels’ return to comedy after more than a decade of focusing on dramatic roles in film and television.

      *Shrinking* has become a success for Apple TV+, garnering multiple nominations at various awards for its cast and writing. This past year at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Television Awards, Segal, Ford, and Jessica Williams received nominations for their performances, while Michael Urie won the Critics Choice for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

      The cast of *Shrinking* includes Jason Segel as Jimmy, Harrison Ford as Paul, Christa Miller as Liz, Jessica Williams as Gaby, Michael Urie as Brian, Luke Tennie as Sean, and Lukita Maxwell as Alice.

      The show follows a grieving therapist (played by Segal) who begins to disregard professional norms by openly sharing his opinions with clients. In doing so, he instigates significant and often chaotic changes in their lives—and his own.

      *Shrinking* is written and executive produced by Segel, Bill Lawrence, and Brett Goldstein, with Lawrence as showrunner. Ashley Nicole Black and Bill Posley will also serve as executive producers for the third season.
