With just one month left until its theatrical release, 20th Century Studios has released a new trailer to remind viewers not to underestimate Rami Malek’s hesitant spy in their espionage action-thriller, The Amateur.
Directed by James Hawes (Slow Horses), The Amateur features Academy Award winner Malek as a talented yet reclusive decoder who embarks on a global quest for revenge after his wife is killed in a terrorist incident.
The film boasts an impressive cast, including Laurence Fishburne, Rachel Brosnahan, Caitríona Balfe, Holt McCallany, Jon Bernthal, Michael Stuhlbarg, Julianne Nicholson, Adrian Martinez, and Danny Sapani. Check out the trailer below…
“Charlie Heller (Malek) is an exceptional but socially withdrawn decoder for the CIA, working in a basement office at headquarters in Langley. His life is shattered when his wife is killed in a terrorist attack in London. When his superiors refuse to take action, he decides to take matters into his own hands, embarking on a perilous journey around the globe to find those responsible, using his intelligence as a key tool for evading his pursuers and exacting his revenge.”
The Amateur hits theaters on April 11th.
