Jack Reynor has been cast in Lee Cronin's The Mummy.
After facing off against Brendan Fraser, Tom Cruise, and even Abbott and Costello, The Mummy is now set to confront its next opponent, Jack Reynor, known from Midsommer and Sing Street.
Deadline reports that Reynor has been cast in an undisclosed role, but he will not be portraying the wrapped figure in the Atomic Monster/Blumhouse project, which is both written and directed by Lee Cronin of Evil Dead Rise.
This marks the first film from the newly established production company led by horror figures James Wan (Insidious) and Jason Blum (Speak No Evil), with The Mummy preparing to begin filming soon.
Currently, there is no official synopsis or details on how the film plans to reinterpret the classic Universal monster, similar to The Invisible Man and Wolf Man under the Blumhouse label, but a release date of April 17, 2026, has already been set.
Reynor's most recent appearance was in the Netflix series The Perfect Couple, and prior to taking on Imhotep, he will appear in the second season of Prime Video's high-budget spy series Citadel.
Cronin will have had a wide selection of projects after the critical and commercial triumph of Evil Dead Rise, which earned $147 million at the box office despite initially being slated for streaming on Max.
