Shudder releases the trailer for its new horror film, Clown in a Cornfield.

      RLJE Films and Shudder have released a new trailer for director Eli Craig’s upcoming adaptation of Adam Cesare’s well-regarded novel, Clown in a Cornfield.

      The horror film portrays the quiet, troubled town of Kettle Spring, haunted by Frendo the Clown, a malevolent mascot and once-admired figure of the now-destroyed Baypen Corn Syrup factory, which was lost to a fire.

      The cast includes Katie Douglas, Carson MacCormac, Aaron Abrams, Will Sasso, and Kevin Durand. You can watch the new trailer below.

      Quinn and her father have relocated to the peaceful town of Kettle Springs in search of a new beginning. However, she encounters a divided community that has suffered since the beloved Baypen Corn Syrup Factory was reduced to ashes. As the residents argue and tensions escalate, a dark, smiling figure rises from the cornfields to rid the town of its troubles, one bloody victim at a time. Welcome to Kettle Springs, where the real excitement begins when Frendo the clown makes his appearance.

      Clown in a Cornfield will hit theaters on May 9th.
