Renée Zellweger is the newest addition to Season 5 of Only Murders in the Building.

      Just a week after Christoph Waltz was added to the cast of Only Murders in the Building for its upcoming fifth season, the series has now announced another new member: Renée Zellweger, known for her role in Bridget Jones, will join the main trio of Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez.

      This news was posted on Instagram in a playful nod to Marvel's way of announcing the cast of Avengers: Doomsday, featuring the actress' name on a black directors' chair. Details about her character have not been disclosed, but she will be joining newcomers Waltz and Keegan-Michael Key, with Téa Leoni anticipated to return after her brief appearance in the fourth season finale.

      Zellweger recently returned to her famous character Bridget Jones in Amazon MGM’s Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy. Only Murders marks her third television role after her performances in The Thing About Pam and What/If.

      The fourth season of Only Murders in the Building concluded with the discovery of Lester, the doorman’s, body in the Arconia courtyard fountain. Lester has been a recurring character since the show's inception and has frequently assisted the trio in their investigations. His murder was particularly shocking because he was well-liked by everyone in the building.

      Only Murders in the Building is currently in production.
