The animated film Avatar: The Last Airbender has announced the addition of Steven Yeun to its cast.
The forthcoming animated film **Avatar: The Last Airbender** titled **Aang: The Last Airbender** has announced a new addition to its voice cast, with Steven Yeun joining the team.
**Aang: The Last Airbender** is set several years after the end of the original Avatar series, featuring Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, and Zuko as young adults, well before the sequel series, **The Legend of Korra**.
Details about Yeun’s character remain undisclosed; however, this marks his return to the Avatar franchise, having previously voiced Wan, the first Avatar, in **Korra**. He will be sharing the screen with Eric Nam as Aang, Dionne Quan as Toph, Jessica Matten as Katara, Román Zaragoza as Sokka, and Dave Bautista from **Guardians of the Galaxy** voicing the antagonist.
**Aang: The Last Airbender** is directed by Lauren Montgomery and William Mata, with production led by Avatar creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, alongside Maryann Garger and Latifa Ouaou.
In addition to **Aang: The Last Airbender**, other Avatar-related projects are in the works. Paramount and Nickelodeon recently revealed an additional animated series titled **Avatar: Seven Havens**, set a century after **Korra**, along with a new series of novels called **Avatar Legends**, focusing on 'unsung' heroes from the franchise.
**Aang: The Last Airbender** is scheduled for release on January 30, 2026.
