The long-awaited reboot of the Red Sonja movie has received a new image and an R-rating.

      Having completed production in 2022, Millennium Media's long-awaited and frequently postponed Red Sonja reboot was officially announced last month to be released in 2025. While an exact release date has not yet been provided, a new image from the film has been revealed.

      This image was released alongside the announcement that the Motion Picture Association has assigned an R-rating for strong and bloody violence to Red Sonja. It features Matilda Lutz (Revenge) as the titular character, the She-Devil with a Sword; take a look at it here...

      M.J. Bassett (Solomon Kane) directs Red Sonja, with Lutz sharing the cast with Robert Sheehan (The Umbrella Academy) as Draygan, Wallis Day (Krypton) as Annisia, Michael Bisping (Den of Thieves) as Hawk, Martyn Ford (Mortal Kombat 2) as General Karlak, Eliza Matengu (Swift Street) as Amarak, Veronica Ferres (Crisis) as Ashera, and Rhona Mitra (Doomsday) in a yet-to-be-disclosed role.

      An early logline for the film, which has been circulating since it finished production in late 2022, states: “Enslaved by an evil tyrant determined to annihilate her people, barbarian huntress Red Sonja must rally a band of unlikely warriors to confront Dragan The Magnificent and his lethal bride, Dark Annisia.”
