101 Films announces the Blu-ray release of Stuart Gordon's Castle Freak.

101 Films has revealed a limited edition Blu-ray release of Stuart Gordon's cult horror film Castle Freak, which was directed in 1995 and is known for its connection to the works of H.P. Lovecraft. This gothic horror will be available on May 26th, 2025. The director, the late Stuart Gordon, is celebrated for his unique contributions to cult horror and sci-fi in the ’80s and ’90s, with notable films like Re-Animator, From Beyond, and Dolls. Castle Freak is a lesser-known work that brought him back together with his frequent collaborator and producer, Charles Band.

In this film, John Reilly (played by Jeffrey Combs, known for Re-Animator), his wife Susan (Barbara Crampton, also from Re-Animator and The Young and the Restless), and their daughter encounter horror when they move to a castle in Italy that they have inherited. They are unaware that their new residence conceals a grotesquely disfigured man who has been imprisoned for decades. As mutilated bodies begin to appear, John must reveal the dark secret of the Reilly family to protect his wife and child from the sadistic creature.
