A comic book adaptation of Love Everlasting is being developed by Sony.
Deadline reports that Sony Pictures is adapting the comic book series Love Everlasting, created by writer Tom King, into a feature film. The project will be helmed by Lenny Abrahamson, known for directing Room, and Jane Goldman, the screenwriter for Kingsman.
Co-created by King and artist Elsa Charretier, and published by Image Comics, Love Everlasting is characterized as “a blend of Groundhog Day and Quantum Leap with elements of sci-fi and horror.”
The narrative centers on Joan Peterson, “a protagonist initially portrayed in a manner typical of romance comics, with her primary aspiration being to find love. However, with each achievement of this goal, Joan is suddenly transported to a different time period and setting where she faces new challenges and must overcome them to fall for another man. Ultimately, she begins to question her desires and seeks a way to take charge of her own future, one that doesn’t necessarily depend on a man’s love for fulfillment.”
Emma Watts (Keeper of the Lost Cities) and Ed Guiney (Poor Things) are producing the adaptation of Love Everlasting.
About Gary Collinson: Gary Collinson is a producer and writer specializing in film, television, and digital content. He is the founder of the pop culture site Flickering Myth and has produced the gothic horror film 'The Baby in the Basket' as well as the forthcoming suspense thriller 'Death Among the Pines.'
