Robert Pattinson has been cast as the antagonist in Dune 3.
Robert Pattinson is currently on the beaches of Greece filming Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, and if rumors are accurate, the star of The Batman and Tenet is expected to stay in the sand for a significant role in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune 3.
As reported by Deadline, Villeneuve aims to enhance an already stellar cast, which includes Timothée Chalamet, Florence Pugh, and Zendaya, by offering Pattinson the part of Scytale, the antagonist from Dune Messiah.
Scytale, a recurring character in Frank Herbert’s Dune series, first appeared in the 1969 novel Messiah and is depicted as a Tleilaxu Face Dancer involved in a conspiracy against Paul Atreides’ regime.
Filming is set to commence in the fall of 2025, with an anticipated release in 2026, as Villeneuve seeks to complete the cast for this billion-dollar franchise.
