Brittany Snow is set to join the cast of Hulu's series on the Murdaugh Murders.
Brittany Snow, known for her roles in Pitch Perfect and The Night Agent, will be at the heart of an intriguing family murder mystery in Hulu's forthcoming series inspired by the Murdaugh Murders Podcast, according to Deadline.
The limited series, which remains unnamed, explores the bizarre family saga of Maggie and Alex Murdaugh, providing a gripping narrative that draws from extensive reporting by Mandy Matney, a journalist and the creator of the well-known Murdaugh Murders Podcast, as well as exclusive insights from years of following the case.
Snow will portray Mandy Matney, "a journalist with an optimistic demeanor yet a skeptical perspective on life. As Mandy seeks a compelling story, she discovers the report of a girl who went missing due to a boat accident. Employing her sharp instincts, Mandy begins to peel back the intricate layers of the Murdaugh family to ensure that justice is served for the guilty."
Joining Snow in the cast are Jason Clarke (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) as Alex Murdaugh, Patricia Arquette (Severance) as Maggie Murdaugh, J. Smith-Cameron (Succession) as Marian Proctor, Johnny Berchtold (Reacher) as Paul Murdaugh, and Will Harrison (Daisy Jones & The Six) as Buster Murdaugh.
The series is developed by Michael D. Fuller and Erin Lee Carr, with Fuller serving as the showrunner. Matney will executive produce alongside Nick Antosca and Alex Hedlund for Eat the Cat.
In addition to her work in the Pitch Perfect trilogy and the second season of The Night Agent, Snow has previously written and directed Parachute and will next appear in Starz’s adaptation of The Hunting Wives.
