Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker is set to return in season 2 of Star Wars: Ahsoka, with the first look at Rory McCann's character, Baylan Skoll, being unveiled.
The Chosen One is making a return to the galaxy far, far away, as Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker in the upcoming second season of Lucasfilm's Disney+ series Star Wars: Ahsoka. This announcement was made during the Ahsoka panel at Star Wars Celebration in Japan, where Christensen was joined on stage by Rosario Dawson, who plays Ahsoka Tano, and Lucasfilm Chief Creative Officer Dave Filoni, who has had a busy weekend announcing his new animated series featuring Darth Maul. There were no specifics provided regarding how Anakin might appear in the new season, whether as a Force Ghost, through Clone Wars flashbacks, or a mix of both, similar to season one.
Additionally, alongside Christensen and Dawson, the returning cast includes Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Sabine Wren), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Hera Syndulla), Eman Esfandi (Ezra Bridger), Ivanna Sakhno (Shin Hati), David Tennant (Huyang), and Lars Mikkelsen (Grand Admiral Thrawn), with Thrawn positioned to confront Admiral Ackbar in a direct battle.
Moreover, it was confirmed that Rory McCann from Game of Thrones will take on the role of Baylan Skoll, previously portrayed by the late Ray Stevenson, with a first look at McCann’s fallen Jedi character shared with those in attendance.
Production for the second season of Star Wars: Ahsoka is scheduled to begin this coming week.
