No Other Land is now available to watch at home for a limited time to support the communities of Masafer Yatta.
The crucial and significant documentary from the past year, "No Other Land," created by Basel Adra, Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham, and Rachel Szor, is now available for home viewing for a limited time. This film, which received the Indie Film Site Network Advocate Award and won the Academy Award for Best Documentary, offers an intimate and distressing portrayal of the ongoing destruction and violence faced by Palestinians in the West Bank. As the film continues its successful theatrical run in North America, nearing $2.4 million at the box office, it is now digitally accessible during an exclusive fundraising period in the region.
"No Other Land" can now be rented digitally, and individuals as well as organizations can organize screenings in their communities through Theatrical On Demand®, Virtual Event Cinema, private gatherings, or any venue they can secure across North America. The film is available for an exclusive three-week period starting today and concluding on May 9, 2025.
Filmmaker Basel Adra states, “My father was born under Israeli occupation and was unable to attend school. However, I learned English and filmmaking, which enabled me to share the story of Masafer Yatta with millions. It is now available online in North America, along with a fundraising initiative to support the community’s future – this is more than just a film; it’s our reality.”
All proceeds from digital rentals and ticket sales by the filmmakers (along with any extra donations) will benefit the Masafer Yatta communities highlighted in the documentary. This support includes aid for families affected by settler violence and funding for English and documentary courses to nurture the next generation of local storytellers. Basel Adra further explains, “We chose to independently make our film available online in the US because, despite winning the Oscar, our community continues to endure destruction and we urgently need assistance. All funds raised will directly support the community, providing both physical and psychological aid to help families heal after settler attacks, establishing a local sheep fodder factory to create jobs, and offering English classes so that the younger generation has better tools to share our stories.”
Rory O’Connor mentioned in his review, “One aspect that often gets overlooked amid the chaos and statistics of recent events is the relentless and calculated impact that decades of conflict have had on the everyday lives of Palestinians: the daily humiliations experienced by those who must navigate checkpoints to reach work; or the ceaseless micro and macro aggressions faced by individuals living near the border. This is vividly portrayed in 'No Other Land,' a powerful documentary making its debut today at Berlinale, which follows the bond between Basel Adra, a Palestinian activist from the West Bank, and Yuval Abraham, an Israeli investigative journalist who supports his cause. Spanning from 2019 through December of last year, the film serves as a crucial record of the erasure of Adra’s area, Masafer Yatta – an organized offensive described in the press materials as ‘the largest single act of forced transfer ever conducted in the occupied West Bank.’”
