The Supergirl movie from DC Studios is nearing the end of production, and a new logo indicates a potential shortened title.
As we approach the release of James Gunn’s Superman, it appears that filming is nearing completion for the second DC Universe feature film. David Krumholtz, who stars in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, has announced that he has finished his part in production with a social media post showcasing the film’s possible logo, implying that the subtitle Woman of Tomorrow may have been omitted.
Krumholtz portrays Zor-El, the father of Kara Zor-el/Supergirl, in the forthcoming superhero film. In an Instagram update, he expressed, “Wrapped! Incredible experience working on #Supergirl with @millyalcock @emily_beecham. Thanks to Craig Gillespie, Peter Safran & @jamesgunn and the absolutely fantastic London-based cast & crew! @dcofficial.”
The images he posted displayed his cast chair featuring the logo on one side, which does not include the subtitle. Although the film is inspired by the graphic novel Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King and Bilquis Evely, this wouldn't be the first instance of Gunn shortening a film's title, as Superman was initially titled Superman: Legacy before the subtitle was removed for simplicity as the inaugural film of the new DC cinematic universe.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow chronicles Supergirl's cosmic adventures as she encounters Ruthye Mary Knolle, a young girl seeking vengeance for her father's recent murder. Together, they embark on a mission to confront the villain Krem of the Yellow Hills, the murderer, as they navigate the galaxy in pursuit of justice and to protect other innocents.
The film stars Milly Alcock as Supergirl, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Mary Knolle, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Jason Momoa as Lobo, and David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham as Supergirl’s parents. Craig Gillespie directs from a screenplay by Ana Nogueira, with James Gunn and Peter Safran serving as executive producers.
Supergirl is set to premiere on June 26, 2026.
