World of Tanks is commemorating the 80th anniversary of the conclusion of World War II in Europe with a new event. From May 6th to 13th, players can engage in an exclusive PvE mode, watch a historical livestream, earn Twitch Drops, enjoy in-game discounts, and more. Check out the new trailer below...
The PvE mission, Operation Postman, puts players in the shoes of an elite Allied tank commander during the war's final days. In this mission, players must deliver a message behind enemy lines to inform Allied forces that the war has ended. They will take to the battlefield in a uniquely camouflaged M24 Chaffee, assisted by an international tank crew with special tactical skills, such as 'Scout Around' for reconnaissance and 'False Order' to deceive German patrols.
Players will face densely packed minefields that will obstruct pathways to the castle, so they must investigate the enemy base, find command posts, and seek maps that uncover a safe travel route. After completing the challenges, this distinctive Chaffee will become a part of the player’s tank collection.
On May 10th at 16:00 BST/15:00 UTC, Wargaming will host a special livestream honoring VE Day from The Tank Museum in Bovington, UK. The event will be led by World of Tanks Head of Military Relations and Tank Regiment Veteran Richard Cutland, alongside Nik Wyness, Head of Marketing and Engagement at The Tank Museum. The livestream will feature special guests discussing the significance of VE Day and the development of armored vehicles during this challenging period. Throughout the stream, viewers can also earn valuable Mystery Drops on Twitch, along with a chance to win premium vehicles.
From May 8th to 12th, tank commanders can earn x5 XP multipliers for their first daily victory, receive gold discounts on Premium vehicles, and avail themselves of discounts on researchable vehicles, consumables, and equipment.
Make sure to join World of Tanks in honoring this significant VE Day anniversary and remember those who fought against tyranny, allowing us to enjoy these games today.
