      With a second season of its live-action prequel series completed, Peacock has announced plans to broaden the universe of Seth MacFarlane's Ted with a new animated sequel series. This series will see the return of MacFarlane along with his co-stars from the films, Mark Wahlberg (John), Amanda Seyfried (Sam), and Jessica Barth (Tami-Lynn).

      The animated series, currently titled Ted: The Animated Series in a working capacity, will continue after the events of the two Ted films. MacFarlane, Seyfried, and Barth will be joined by new regular voice cast members Kyle Mooney and Liz Richman.

      In addition to voicing Ted, MacFarlane will also serve as a writer and executive producer for the animated series, working alongside showrunners Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh (Modern Family), who are also executive producers on the live-action prequel.

      The two Ted films grossed a combined total of $765 million globally upon their releases in 2012 and 2015. The prequel series, which debuted in January 2024, set records as Peacock’s most-watched original title so far, maintaining the position of #1 Original Streaming Comedy in the U.S. for over two months following its launch. Production on the second season wrapped up in January this year and it is currently undergoing post-production.
