The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping includes Ben Wang, Molly McCann, and Iona Bell.

      The tributes from District 12 have been completely selected. Joining the cast of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping are Ben Wang (Karate Kid: Legends), Molly McCann (The Vanishing Triangle), and Iona Bell (Mandrake) as the remaining District 12 tributes, alongside the previously revealed Joseph Zada and McKenna Grace.

      Wang will portray Wyatt Callow, a member of the Callow family that manages the betting pool for the Hunger Games in District 12. McCann will take on the role of Louella McCoy, the youngest tribute from District 12 for the Quarter Quell, while Bell will play a mysterious character named Lou Lou.

      This announcement follows the casting of Elle Fanning as Effie Trinket in the prequel, a role originally played by Elizabeth Banks in the first four Hunger Games films. Lionsgate co-president Erin Westerman remarked on Fanning's casting, saying, “From the moment Suzanne released the book, one question echoed among fans everywhere: Who will portray Effie? Elizabeth Banks made her portrayal iconic—so who could honor that legacy while bringing us back to Effie’s early and most formative days? For us, there was only one answer. Elle Fanning’s career has been remarkable. She possesses a rare presence—warm, sparkling, and layered with incredible depth. She was the clear fan-favorite from the beginning, and we are honored she accepted the role. The odds turned out to be in our favor.”

      Released in March by Suzanne Collins, Sunrise on the Reaping takes fans back to the 50th anniversary of the Hunger Games, known as the Second Quarter Quell, in which fan-favorite Haymitch Abernathy was reaped as one of District 12’s four tributes. He went on to win the Games and later served as a mentor to Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark nearly 25 years later in their own competition.

      The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is directed by Francis Lawrence and features Joseph Zada (Invisible Boys) as Haymitch Abernathy, Whitney Peak (Hocus Pocus 2) as Lenore Dove Baird, McKenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire) as Maysilee Donner, Jesse Plemons (Civil War) as Plutarch Heavensbee, Kelvin Harrison Jr. (Mufasa: The Lion King) as Beetee, Maya Hawke (Stranger Things) as Wiress, Lili Taylor (Outer Range) as Mags, Ben Wang (Karate Kid: Legends) as Wyatt Callow, Molly McCann (The Vanishing Triangle) as Louella McCoy, Iona Bell (Mandrake) as Lou Lou, Ralph Fiennes (Conclave) as President Snow, and Elle Fanning (A Complete Unknown) as Effie Trinket.

      The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is set to be released on November 20th, 2026.
