Bohemia Interactive has launched Update 1.28 for DayZ on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. This update brings a variety of new features shaped by community feedback during the experimental phase, including dynamic world events, expanded weapon options, and more.

There are numerous adjustments, additions, and modifications in DayZ with this update. Players may experience improved weapon handling in combat and new sound effects for every shot. Those traveling around Sakhal in vehicles will benefit from enhanced car physics. This update offers something for every survivor navigating the challenging wilderness of Sakhal.

Dynamic events are introduced in this update, significantly increasing the activity on the island. Players will encounter more patrol boats, including fishing and military, along the coast, providing additional loot, potentially including valuable items. Ambulance wrecks will be scattered along the main roads, offering various basic medical supplies but also attracting many infected. Players may also find helicopter crash sites across Shantar Island and Burukan Peninsula, as well as unusual activity in the hot springs areas.

Two new weapons have been added: the R12 semi-automatic shotgun, which features a variety of attachment options, and the RAK 37, a .380 caliber SMG compatible with both 15- and 25-round magazines. Additionally, three new scope options are now available: a long-range Marksman scope, an updated PSO-6, and a low-magnification Sportpoint sight. Players will notice that scope overlays now support damage states and illuminated reticles, and the rangefinder overlay has received a visual update.

Regarding driving, players can expect less bouncy or floaty vehicle handling, thanks to a full revamp of client-server vehicle synchronization. Engine sounds have also been enhanced for a more refined audio experience across various distances.

Dive into DayZ now and explore the features of this latest update.
