Transform into James Bond with the trailer for 007 First Light.

      Though the future of James Bond in film is uncertain, the iconic super spy is set to receive a new version in video game form with IO Interactive's 007 First Light, a modern interpretation of Bond's transition into a double-0 agent.

      For several years, IO has been working on 007 First Light, which was first revealed as Project 007 in 2020. Known primarily for the Hitman series, IO appears to be incorporating some familiar gameplay mechanics and inventive assassination techniques from Hitman into this new Bond adventure, as seen in the announcement trailer.

      Players will embody a young Bond being recruited into MI6’s double-0 program, interacting with well-known characters from the franchise such as M, Moneypenny, and Q. Additionally, a new character named Greenway will be introduced, who, despite his reluctance, will mentor Bond at M’s request.

      Yann Roskell, IO's Senior Communication Manager, expressed, “Having IO Interactive develop a 007 game is a tremendous honor. We are excited to use our 25 years of experience and expertise to craft a James Bond adventure, which presents a unique journey for our studio.”

      In 007 First Light, players will accompany a young Bond, portrayed as a resourceful yet sometimes reckless recruit in MI6’s training program, as they uncover the origin story of the world's most renowned spy.
