Marvel is bringing back Spider-Man: The Animated Series in comic book format with Spider-Man '94.

It's not entirely a full-scale revival of X-Men ’97 on Disney+, but Marvel is returning to the universe of Spider-Man: The Animated Series with Spider-Man ’94, a comic book continuation of the cherished 90s program.

Crafted by the iconic Spider-Man writer J.M. DeMatteis, with illustrations from Jim Towe (X-Force), this five-issue limited series will directly continue from the cliffhanger ending of the original show, where Spider-Man ventured into the multiverse to rescue Mary Jane Watson.

"The 1990s Spider-Man animated series is a treasured part of Spider-Man lore—it introduced Peter Parker and his world to an entire generation—and I’m thrilled to revisit that universe," stated DeMatteis. "We’re approaching this as the next season of the series, which involves introducing new adversaries, fresh challenges, and new escapades for Peter—while striving to uphold the creative essence that John Semper and the team established with the original show."

After exploring the depths of the Multiverse, PETER PARKER – the AMAZING, the SPECTACULAR, the RADIOACTIVE Web-Head – A.K.A. SPIDER-MAN, returns to the streets of New York City, accompanied by his cherished Mary Jane Watson! But hold on! One of these villains stands out: Witness the introduction of not one, but TWO of Spider-Man’s most formidable foes from the comics—MORLUN and KAINE! So grab your action figures and get ready to sit in front of the TV as we revisit the golden era of animated superhero television! Prepare for unexpected twists and turns ahead for your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!

      Spider-Man ’94 #1 is set to be released on September 3rd, 2025.
