The trailer for Shudder's WWII horror film Monster Island reveals a nightmarish scene in the Pacific.
Shudder has released a poster and trailer for Mike Wiluan's upcoming creature feature, Monster Island.
Set during World War II, this horror film follows a Japanese soldier and a British prisoner of war (played by Dean Fukjioka and Callum Woodhouse) who find themselves marooned on a remote island, compelled to collaborate in order to survive against a deadly mythological creature that is stalking them. You can watch the trailer below.
The story begins with a Japanese ship that is transporting prisoners of war to occupied regions for forced labor. After being struck by torpedoes fired by Allied submarines, a Japanese soldier and a British POW end up on an uninhabited island, where they soon realize they are being pursued by a fierce mythological beast known as the Orang Ikan. Both the soldier and the POW come to understand that they must unite to overcome the threats they face, regardless of their differing backgrounds.
Monster Island will be available on Shudder starting July 25th.
