In a dystopian future, The Running Man is the highest-rated television program—a perilous contest where participants, called Runners, must endure 30 days while evading professional killers, all while their every move is televised to an eager audience, with escalating cash prizes each day. In a bid to save his ill daughter, working-class Ben Richards (Glen Powell) is persuaded by the show's charming yet cutthroat producer, Dan Killian (Josh Brolin), to join the competition as a desperate measure. However, Ben's resilience, innate skills, and determination turn him into an unlikely favorite among viewers—and a significant challenge to the entire system. As ratings soar, so too does the peril, as Ben has to outsmart not only the Hunters but also a nation captivated by his potential downfall.
