
Jack O'Connell is set to star in 28 Years Later.
Jack O’Connell is set to take on vampires as well as rabid zombies in Danny Boyle’s upcoming film, 28 Years Later. Deadline reports that O’Connell's involvement is a significant addition to an already impressive 2024 lineup. Details about this long-awaited horror sequel remain undisclosed.
O’Connell is widely recognized for his role as the antagonist in Eden Lake and has recently been cast as the villain in Ryan Coogler’s forthcoming vampire film alongside Michael B. Jordan. He is also currently featured in the Amy Winehouse biopic, Back to Black.
Joining O’Connell in the cast are Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes, who have already confirmed their participation in the film.
Boyle is directing the original movie, based on a script by Alex Garland. A sequel is in the works, with Nia DaCosta taking over as director. The plan is reportedly to shoot both films consecutively.
Although not officially confirmed, 28 Years Later is rumored to have a budget of $60 million and aims to establish a new trilogy. Production is slated to commence in May, with Sony set to release the film worldwide in 2025.
