Kenneth Branagh and Lily Gladstone have joined the cast of Michael B. Jordan's The Thomas Crown Affair.
Michael B. Jordan's forthcoming remake of The Thomas Crown Affair has welcomed three prominent figures to its production. As reported by Deadline, Kenneth Branagh (Murder on the Orient Express) and Lily Gladstone (Killers of the Flower Moon) have joined the cast, with Oppenheimer producer Charles Roven also becoming part of the production team.
Jordan not only stars in the film but also co-directs it alongside Taylor Russell (Bones and All), stepping into the roles previously held by Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway as well as Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo from the original 1968 film and its 1999 remake. The specifics of Gladstone's character are being kept confidential, but it is reported that Branagh will portray the film's antagonist.
The plot of The Thomas Crown Affair centers around "a wealthy, thrill-seeking individual who plans a high-stakes heist purely for the excitement, only to find himself involved in a complex game of cat-and-mouse with a clever investigator." The screenplay has been penned by Drew Pierce, based on an earlier draft by Wes Tooke and Justin Britt-Gibson.
This new remake will be produced by Jordan and Elizabeth Raposo for Outlier Society, alongside Roven for Atlas Entertainment.
