
This summer, Penguin Random House will release new audiobooks for Doctor Who.
Penguin Random House has announced its lineup of Doctor Who audiobooks set to delight fans this summer. The new titles will feature novelizations of beloved Doctor Who episodes, fresh adventures, and collections, all narrated by actors familiar to the Doctor Who fandom.
In July, fans can enjoy four new audiobooks, all scheduled for release on July 10th. These audiobooks are:
Doctor Who: Empire of Death – This novelization of a recent television adventure follows the Doctor and Ruby as they delve into deeper mysteries while enlisting UNIT to search for an enigmatic woman who keeps appearing throughout time and space. The narration is by Susan Twist, who has portrayed various characters in Doctor Who over the years, most recently playing Susan Triad in The Legend of Ruby Sunday.
Doctor Who: The Robot Revolution – Growing up with dreams of distant travels, Belinda Chandra never anticipated being kidnapped by killer robots and transported to an alien world. She must join forces with the Doctor to set things right. This novelization of a recent TV episode is narrated by Varada Sethu, who played Belinda in the series.
Doctor Who: Lux – In this new novelization of a recent adventure, Dan Starkey narrates the story where a visit to 1950s Miami leaves the Doctor and Belinda at the mercy of the cartoon character, Mr. Ring-a-Ding.
Doctor Who: The Well – The Doctor and Belinda assist a military rescue team on a mission to a remote mining colony. When they discover only one survivor, the Doctor is tasked with uncovering the fate of the other colonists and the reason behind the shattered mirrors. This new novelization comes with narration by Caoilfhionn Dunne, who played Shaya Costallion in the episode.
In August, fans can look forward to Doctor Who: What Still Remains, a new adventure featuring the Seventh Doctor and Ace. This tale finds the TARDIS, the Doctor, and Ace caught in a time displacement, raising questions about the secret of a tiny spinning artifact, the whereabouts of the base's personnel, and the shadowy presence lurking nearby. This audiobook is narrated by Sophie Aldred, who portrayed Ace in the series.
August will also bring a comprehensive collection of classic stories from Doctor Who Annual, showcasing the first six Doctors and their companions.
Lastly, September will introduce a compilation titled Doctor Who: 1001 Nights in Time and Space, alongside Doctor Who and the Loch Ness Monster, the novelization of a classic episode featuring the Fourth Doctor. This episode depicts the Doctor being called to the shores of Loch Ness as a mysterious force destroys a third oil rig.
