Eric Roberts' portrayal of The Master takes on the role of a teacher in the latest Doctor Who audio drama.

We have likely all encountered a teacher who did not particularly like children at some point, but in Dark Gallifrey: Master! – Part One, the newly released full-cast audio drama from Big Finish, none compare to the Master in terms of nastiness. In this latest trilogy of the Dark Gallifrey saga, the Master poses as an instructor to a group of young Gallifreyans. What could possibly go wrong?

In this eerie tale penned by Lizzie Hopley, the malevolent Time Lord takes the students on an excursion; however, when their ship crashes, the young Gallifreyans find themselves stranded on a desolate and twisted version of their home planet. It is evident that the Master has sinister plans for these students.

Years later, Gamara, one of the survivors from this disastrous trip, embarks on a quest to discover the truth about what transpired with her and her classmates during their encounter with one of the universe's most malevolent forces.

In this new adventure, Eric Roberts portrays the Master, the worst teacher imaginable, while Claire Huckle plays Gamara. The cast also includes Chris Odulele, Nathan Griffiths, Francesca Gilbert, Nadia Violet Johnson, Millie Hikasa, and Lizzie Hopley.

Eric Roberts stated: “I enjoy this role because I adore the Master. He is such a master! He is so in control and certainly not kind. Playing villains is always enjoyable because you get the best lines.”

Dark Gallifrey: Master! – Part One is now available on the Big Finish website for £8.99 as a download or £10.99 for the limited collector's edition CD and download. Bundles for all three parts of this trilogy are also on offer at £25 for download and £31 for the collector’s edition CD and download.
