      Prime Video has released the first teaser trailer for the psychological thriller series The Girlfriend.

      Inspired by Michelle Frances’ novel of the same name, the series features Robin Wright as Laura, a woman who enjoys a perfect life until it is disrupted when her son introduces his new girlfriend (Olivia Cooke) to the family.

      In addition to Robin Wright and Olivia Cooke, the cast also includes Laurie Davidson, Waleed Zuaiter, Tayna Moodie, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Karen Henthorn, Anna Chancellor, Leo Suter, and Francesca Corney. You can watch the trailer below…

      The Girlfriend centers on Laura (Robin Wright), a woman who appears to have everything: a successful career, a devoted husband, and her beloved son, Daniel. Her seemingly flawless life starts to fall apart when Daniel brings home Cherry (Olivia Cooke), a girlfriend who alters the dynamic. Following a stressful introduction, Laura becomes suspicious that Cherry is concealing something. Is Cherry a cunning social climber, or is Laura simply being paranoid? The reality depends on one's viewpoint.

      The Girlfriend is set to premiere on Prime Video on September 10th.
