      Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Lily-Rose Depp are reuniting with Robert Eggers for his upcoming gothic-horror film, Werwulf. As reported by Variety, the trio will collaborate again after the critical and box office success of Nosferatu, which grossed $180 million, to adapt a werewolf story penned by Eggers and his Northman co-writer Sjón.

      The behind-the-scenes team will also remain intact, with Eggers and Sjón producing alongside Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner from Working Title, while Chris and Eleanor Columbus from Maiden Voyage will serve as executive producers.

      Werwulf is set in 13th-century England and features a script with period-appropriate dialogue, complete with translations and annotations for those unfamiliar with Old English. Eggers has stated that it is the darkest material he has written to date.

      In addition to Werwulf, Eggers is also set to direct a sequel to the beloved 1980s fantasy Labyrinth and has recently agreed to adapt Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, with his regular collaborator Willem Dafoe linked to the role of Scrooge.

      Hoping to replicate the seasonal success of Nosferatu, Werwulf is slated for a Christmas Day release in 2026 in North America.
