
Aubrey Plaza will portray Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss in an upcoming biopic.
Variety has reported that Aubrey Plaza will take on the role of the notorious 'Hollywood Madam' Heidi Fleiss in the biopic The Heidi Fleiss Story, which marks the feature directorial debut of Leah Rachel, known for her work on Netflix's Chambers. Plaza will both produce and star in the film, which will mainly focus on the events leading up to Fleiss' legal troubles in the mid-1990s, following her arrest for operating a high-end prostitution ring catering to wealthy and influential individuals in Hollywood.
The screenplay for The Heidi Fleiss Story has been written by Leah Rachel and Rachel Sennott (I Used To Be Funny), and it will depict Plaza’s depiction of Fleiss “before trial, maneuvering through Los Angeles in an attempt to blackmail and leverage connections to have the case dismissed, with assistance from a young aspiring writer named Jaclyn.”
Filming for The Heidi Fleiss Story is scheduled to begin in Los Angeles in the upcoming months. Meanwhile, Plaza is set to appear in this month’s Honey Don’t!, directed by Ethan Coen and featuring co-stars Margaret Qualley and Chris Evans [watch the trailer here].
