Big Finish has announced the Doctor Who Halloween and Christmas Specials for 2025.
With Halloween and Christmas approaching, Big Finish Productions has announced details about two box sets of Doctor Who audio dramas that will be released later this year. Each set includes four unique adventures featuring the Doctors, companions, and other characters.
The Halloween special, Doctor Who: Halloween – Sea Smoke and Other Stories, will be released this October. This collection presents four chilling adventures involving terrifying mind-controlling creatures, cave monsters, and more, featuring three Doctors alongside a story with Kate Stewart and Osgood. The four spooky tales in this set are:
- Sea Smoke – a First Doctor and Dodo story by Jonathan Sims
- Party Favours – a Kate Stewart and Osgood tale by Georgia Cook
- Bramble King – an Eighth Doctor and Audacity adventure by Noga Flaishon
- Merlin’s Trap – a Twelfth Doctor story by Hannah Kennedy
The cast for this box set includes Stephen Noonan as the First Doctor, Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor, Lauren Cornelius as Dodo, Jemma Redgrave as Kate Stewart, Ingrid Oliver as Osgood, and Jaye Griffiths as Audacity.
Later this year, the Doctor Who: Christmas – It’s a Wonderful War and Other Stories box set will transport the time travelers from a village in England in 1962 to an asteroid on the brink of a major conflict. The four holiday-themed Christmas stories featured in this collection are:
- Unholy Night – a Missy adventure by Noga Flaishon
- Legacy of Blood – a Sixth Doctor and Leela story by Julian Richards
- Presents of Mind – a Smith and Sullivan adventure by Mark Wright
- It’s a Wonderful War – an Eighth Doctor adventure set during the Time War by Jonathan S Powell
This box set showcases an impressive cast, including Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor, Louise Jameson as Leela, Sadie Miller as Sarah Jane Smith, Christopher Naylor as Harry Sullivan, John Leeson as K9, Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor, Michelle Gomez as Missy, Annette Badland as Aunt Lavinia, and Nicholas Briggs as the Daleks.
Both Doctor Who: Halloween – Sea Smoke and Other Stories and Doctor Who: Christmas – It’s a Wonderful War and Other Stories are now available for pre-order at £24.99 for the download version and £30.99 for the collector’s edition CD box sets. Fans can also pre-order both sets together for £48 for the download and £58 for the limited collectors’ box sets.
