The Lost Harvest DLC for Dune: Awakening is set to be released this September.
During this year’s Gamescom event, Funcom announced upcoming content for Dune: Awakening. On September 10th, players can look forward to Chapter 2, the first free content update for the game. On the same day, Funcom will also launch The Lost Harvest, a new DLC featuring a standalone narrative and exclusive cosmetics (check out the thrilling new trailer below). Additionally, a free trial of the game is available on Steam until August 24th, and pre-orders for the game’s soundtrack on vinyl are open now.
In The Lost Harvest DLC, players embark on a completely new standalone storyline centered around the spectacular crash of a Miner’s Guild spice harvester, which is found carrying a secret, potentially game-changing cargo that players must track down.
This DLC also introduces a variety of new cosmetics, including the game's first new cosmetic vehicle with unique animations, the Treadwheel, along with the new Dune Man building set, fresh decorations, armor sets, weapons, and more. All cosmetics, including the vehicle, need to be crafted like any other item.
The free Chapter 2 update continues the ominous revelations from the end of the main storyline and enables players to delve deeper into the darker aspects of the Imperium's history, explore new locations, and interact with both new and familiar characters.
Players will have access to an array of thrilling new world content, which includes contracts, dynamic encounters, items, activities, and additional features. Furthermore, a new re-customization option allows players to alter existing characters using some of the new character creation features.
A free trial is currently available on Steam until August 24th, offering players the chance to play for 10 hours across the entire Hagga Basin map. During this trial, players will only encounter others participating in the trial and not those who own the game, though any character progress and inventory will be retained if they choose to purchase the game afterward.
Lastly, the stunning Dune: Awakening soundtrack by acclaimed composer Knut Avenstroup Haugen is now available for pre-order on vinyl.
The new DLC will be released for purchase on September 10th and will be automatically accessible to those who have bought the season pass.
