Natalie Dormer joins the cast of Netflix's Extraction spin-off series.

      Netflix's forthcoming TV spin-off, Extraction, has welcomed a new cast member: Natalie Dormer, known for her roles in Game of Thrones and Aubrey's Children, will join Omar Sy and Boyd Holbrook in the series.

      Extraction is derived from the franchise of the same name, which featured Chris Hemsworth as an Australian mercenary in the 2020 film and its sequel released in 2023. The TV series will showcase Sy as a mercenary who undertakes a perilous mission to rescue hostages in Libya. Caught amidst rival factions and merciless killers, he must make life-or-death decisions while grappling with profound emotional scars. Extraction delves into the themes of trauma, betrayal, and ethical dilemmas faced by characters driven to their limits.

      Dormer will portray Clayton Wisper, who leads a private military contractor, while details about Holbrook's character remain under wraps for now.

      The inaugural season will consist of 8 episodes, with Glen Mazzara from The Walking Dead serving as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Joe and Anthony Russo will also be executive producing through their company AGBO.

      Extraction is inspired by the graphic novel Ciudad by Ande Parks and Fernando León González. The original film was penned by the Russo Brothers and directed by Sam Hargrave, who, along with Hemsworth and the rest of the original cast, returned for Extraction 2. A third film is in the works, although filming has yet to commence and no release date has been announced.

      Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as Tyler Rake in EXTRACTION 2, the sequel to Netflix's hit action film EXTRACTION. After narrowly escaping the events of the first film, Rake returns as the Australian black ops mercenary, assigned to another life-threatening task: rescuing the injured family of a vicious Georgian gangster from the prison where they are confined.

      Extraction and Extraction 2 are now available for streaming on Netflix.
