Blake Lively to star in the action romantic comedy The Survival List.

As Blake Lively's ongoing legal dispute with her It Ends with Us director and co-star Justin Baldoni continues, she is aiming to return to acting. THR reports that the actress is collaborating with Wicked producer Marc Platt for the action rom-com titled The Survival List.

According to the publication, The Survival List will bring Lively back to Lionsgate, the studio responsible for A Simple Favor and its recent sequel, Another Simple Favor. The film is based on a spec script by Tom Melia, the screenwriter known for the BAFTA-nominated British film Rye Lane.

In The Survival List, Lively will portray "Annie," a highbrow reality TV producer who, against her will, is placed on a new show hosted by a well-known survival expert, Chopper Lane. However, when a shipwreck leaves them stranded on a deserted island, Annie learns that Chopper is a fraud who lacks survival skills, which forces her to take charge and find a way to keep them alive. As they are compelled to collaborate, they begin to uncover an unexpected chemistry.

Currently, there is no information regarding the casting of the character Chopper Lane or a director for the film. Nonetheless, Lively and Platt will produce the movie, with Lionsgate's Scott O’Brien overseeing it for the studio.

About Gary Collinson: Gary Collinson is a producer and writer of film, TV, and digital content, and he is the founder of the pop culture site Flickering Myth. He has also produced the gothic horror film 'The Baby in the Basket' and the upcoming suspense thriller 'Death Among the Pines'.
