Urchin Trailer: Harris Dickinson’s Compelling Directorial Debut Set to Release This October

While directorial debuts can be quite unpredictable, those from actors can be even more so. However, one of the more notable examples in recent times is Harris Dickinson's "Urchin." This compelling character study centers on a man in London who is caught in a cycle of self-destruction as he tries to change his life.

The film features Frank Dillane (delivering one of the year's standout performances), along with Megan Northam, Amr Waked, Shonagh Marie, and Karyna Khymchuk. "1-2 Special" has scheduled the release for October 10, in line with the Cannes Un Certain Regard award. In anticipation of the premiere, a new trailer and poster have been unveiled.

In his review, Rory O’Connor remarked, “A few scenes into 'Urchin,' we embark on a journey through the Bardo. Initially, the camera focuses on a shower drain, reminiscent of countless films before, but then introduces something unique: a tunnel filled with darkness and color that opens up to a damp, serene space, where a solitary man stands in a clearing, facing away from us, absorbing the light. This imaginative sequence comes from the direction of Harris Dickinson, who has managed to fit directing this insightful and adventurous film into his busy schedule as a cherished actor and emerging sex symbol, while also portraying John Lennon.”
