      After its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (check out our ★★★★ review here), the first trailer for the biographical sports drama Christy has been released. Directed by David Michôd, the film features Sydney Sweeney as Christy Martin and narrates her journey to becoming one of America’s most accomplished female boxers.

      The cast alongside Sweeney includes Ben Foster, Merritt Wever, Katy O’Brian, Ethan Embry, Jess Gabor, Chad Coleman, Bryan Hibbard, Tony Cavalero, and Gilbert Cruz. You can watch the trailer below…

      Christy Martin (Sydney Sweeney) never envisioned a life beyond her small-town upbringing in West Virginia—until she realized her talent for boxing. Driven by determination, grit, and an unwavering desire to succeed, she plunges into the boxing scene under the mentorship of her trainer and husband, Jim (Ben Foster).

      While Christy presents a fierce image in the ring, her greatest challenges arise outside of it—dealing with issues of family, identity, and a relationship that may prove life-threatening. Based on extraordinary real events, the story of Christy Martin embodies resilience, bravery, and the struggle to reclaim one's life.

      Christy is scheduled for release on November 7th.
