      Heretic Films has unveiled a poster and trailer for Miguel Ángel Jiménez’s drama The Birthday Party, set in the 1970s.

      Willem Dafoe stars as Marcos, a wealthy businessman hosting an extravagant birthday celebration for his daughter Sofia on his private Mediterranean island. As night descends, a series of events threaten both his authority and his relationship with his daughter.

      Set in the late 1970s in the Mediterranean, the story follows Marcos Timoleon, a tycoon reminiscent of Aristotle Onassis, as he plans a lavish birthday party for his daughter and only heir, Sofia, on his exclusive island. This party serves as a pretext for various individuals in his life to approach him with their own motives. However, Marcos, accustomed to exercising ruthless control over everything and everyone around him, is secretly contemplating a significant decision regarding his daughter. Meanwhile, Sofia has important news of her own to share. As guests arrive and night falls, the festivities become increasingly wild and extravagant, culminating in a poignant conflict between Marcos and Sofia.
